Vet for a Day

VFaD_LogoWithSpaceAll sessions of the 2017 Vet For a Day program have been filled.  Please check back for future dates as they become available.

Coastal Humane Society is very fortunate to have a full-time veterinarian on staff, Dr. Mandie Wehr.  Dr. Wehr studied shelter medicine while in veterinary school, and has been Coastal Humane Society’s veterinarian for the past five years, serving the thousands of animals that come through our doors.

Vet for a Day provides an opportunity for your child to spend four hours in our clinic with Dr. Wehr and her clinic staff to learn about veterinary medicine and observe surgeries, intake exams, and more.

The half-day session includes an introduction to sheltering, a tour of our facility, and hands-on time in our veterinary clinic with Dr. Wehr and other trained professionals. This is a great opportunity to expose your child to a potential career in veterinary medicine.
