Junior Philanthropy

Some of our most devoted supporters are young people- as young as three years old! That’s why we created our Junior Philanthropy program, to honor and recognize these special constituents. A CHS Junior Philanthropist is any person under age 18 who donates money or shelter supplies to CHS. From lemonade stands to Eagle Scout Awards, we never cease to be amazed by the thoughtfulness of our Junior Philanthropists. Here are some of the creative ways kids have shown their love and support for shelter animals.

Birthday Donations

Many youngsters have selflessly asked for shelter supplies in lieu of birthday presents.  We welcome these kids to tell us in advance when they are stopping by with the donations so that we can give them an inside look at the shelter and introduce them to some of the animals that will benefit from their donations. We also host birthday parties at the shelter with registration required in advance.

Older Junior Philanthropists have organized highly successful drives in their schools and neighborhoods to collect money and supplies for our animals.

Craft/Bake Sales

Many kids have made cookies, created magnets, artwork, and other crafts to sell, and then donated the profits to Coastal Humane Society.

Some truly amazing children set aside a portion of their allowance to donate to Coastal Humane. This puts them well on the road to practicing thoughtful philanthropy for a lifetime.

This fresh fruit and lemonade stand was a fruitful way to donate to the animals!
