Surrendering an Animal

If you are thinking of giving up your pet we encourage you to call us and discuss your options, or check out local and national resources that may help you to keep your pet:

Financial Assistance
Behavioral Advice

If surrendering is your only option, please schedule your surrender ahead of time by calling (207) 725-5051 ext. 10.  If possible, please come prepared with the following forms filled out (see below).  You may also fill out the required Intake Short Form and Personality Profile (if the animal is a cat or dog) at the time of surrender. The more details you can provide us about your animal the better- we will use this information to help your pet find the best home possible.  Bring your pet’s medical records with you when you bring in your animal.  Consider making a financial contribution which will help us care for your animal while he or she is with us.
