March Volunteer of the Month: Elaine Harlow
Congratulations to Elaine Harlow, March’s Volunteer of the Month! Elaine is a highly dedicated dog walker at Lincoln County Animal Shelter, our Edgecomb facility. Staff appreciates her help and her passion for the dogs. Having volunteers like Elaine that take so much time out of every week to spend real, quality time with our dogs makes a huge difference in their lives. If you see Elaine this month, please thank her for her service!
What do you like about volunteering?
I love being able to bring some fun and T.L.C. to the dogs I walk.
What is your best memory volunteering at Lincoln County?
My best volunteer memory is working with an extremely timid dog we once had, helping to build her confidence, and, after many months, meeting her “new people” and watching her drive away with them. I felt secure that she was going to a better life, but still shed a tear.
What would you tell people that are interested in volunteering with us?
Anyone who loves animals will get enormous satisfaction from volunteering, and will realize that we can make a difference in the lives of the animals that end up in shelters. Plus, you’ll be in the company of amazing animals and animal lovers!
Our VOLUNTEER OF THE MONTH series profiles our incredible, hardworking, beloved volunteers. Each month, this V.I.P.’s picture and award will be displayed on our website, at our Range Road building for the month, and their name inscribed on a special plaque.
