Support Us
The Coastal Humane Society Inc. is a private nonprofit 501(c)(3) charitable organization. CHS receives no federal or state funds, and local funds only through animal control fee-for-service contracts, which amount to less than 20% of our total income. All other funds must be raised through events and private sources. Providing quality, humane care for as many as 2500 animals a year is a constant fiscal challenge and we greatly appreciate any help.

We are putting forth a plea for assistance from the many supporters of our shelter.

Coastal Humane Society is fortunate to have the services of a part-time
staff veterinarian and a small clinic in which he can perform
spay/neuter procedures before our feline and canine residents can be
adopted into new homes. There are occasions when animals come to us
sorely in need of dental care. Sometimes other surgical measures are
needed to ensure the safety and well-being of animals often neglected
before being brought to us.
We are very committed to meeting the medical needs of all the animals that pass through
our doors -
from the very young such as Honey (shown on the far left), to the more senior, such as Mr Scruffy and Mary Jo
(shown on the near left).

We are currently in need of several veterinary care items ( various pieces of dental equipment and
specialized forceps, for example). If you can
help, please click here ...
