Marketing, Membership and Development Coordinator

Company: The Coastal Humane Society

Salary: Commensurate with experience

The Coastal Humane Society, Inc, a non-profit animal shelter dedicated to the compassionate care and protection of stray, abandoned, abused, and owner-surrendered animals, is seeking a highly-organized, hard working, experienced Marketing, Membership and Development Coordinator.

Responsibilities include: maintaining the membership and donor database, data entry, and accurate record keeping. Processing all memberships and donations. Managing all direct mail, member/donor services, surveys, benefit fulfillment, etc. Implementing marketing initiatives and positive public relations. Providing support for Planned Giving, grants, events and other development initiatives.

Qualification: 3-5 years marketing & membership management experience is a must. Superior interpersonal and communication skills, the ability to maintain a friendly and positive demeanor in a fast-paced and demanding work environment, computer and database proficiency, and a love of animals. Animal welfare and development experience a plus.

Animal Care Technician/Adoption Counselor


TITLE
Animal Care Technician/Adoption Counselor

REPORTS TO
Shelter Manager

REQUIREMENTS
GED, High School diploma or higher education, 1-2 years animal care experience preferred but not required

SALARY RANGE:
Commensurate with experience. This position is non-exempt.

SUMMARY
Responsible for providing safe and sanitary conditions for animals and people by assuring all animals' nutrition, housing and basic medical needs are met on a daily basis. Responsible for providing friendly, positive, compassionate counseling to adopters as well as to people surrendering animals. Must be able to handle stressful situations

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for daily cleaning kennels/cages/contents and housing areas.
  • Responsible for ensuring that each animal receives food and water, bathing/grooming and for providing humane handling when animals need to be moved.
  • Monitors animal health and behavior and documents/reports any changes.
  • Administers and documents medications and medical treatments, as directed.
  • Provides daily exercise and kennel/cage enrichment.
  • Attempts to know the animals in CHS's care, as well as volunteers and visitors in order to facilitate the accurate flow of information among staff (i.e. for the creation of cage cards, determining suitable animals to place at adoption sites, health status, etc.)
  • Greets and assists visitors interested in adopting, counsels adopters in lifestyle and personality matches, and provides information about care and treatment of their pets
  • Serves as a friendly and accommodating educational resource to all visitors in the shelter; serves as a compassionate counselor to owners surrendering animals
  • Assists in the cleaning, laundry, organization and maintenance of the facility and grounds.
  • Assists with inventory, restocking supplies and runs errands as necessary.
  • Assists volunteers in carrying out their duties.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Operations Manager or the Executive Director.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT
Possible expose to infectious organisms, animal waste, allergens, chemical materials requiring OSHA Material Safety Data sheets and potential hostile persons and/or vicious animals.

SCHEDULE
Willingness to work weekends and holidays.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Ability to lift and carry 50 lbs for 100 feet; bend and reach; control large dogs on a leash; work with a variety of cleaning agents; work in an environment with daily changes in climate.




Administrative and Office Coordinator

Administrative and Office Coordinator

REPORTS TO
Executive Director

REQUIREMENTS
GED, High School diploma or higher education, 3-5 years administrative experience required, knowledge of State and Federal Employment Laws, Skilled in QuickBooks, Excel and Word, database management.
Must be able to handle stressful situations

SALARY RANGE
Commensurate on experience

SUMMARY
Performs day-to-day administrative functions to include inventories, equipment maintenance, AR/AP, HR and payroll; deposit and record income; ensure CHS compliance with all laws and regulations; data entry and database management; assistance to the Executive Director. This position is salaried and exempt.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Regularly uses discretion and independent judgment in all tasks.
  • Oversees all inventories (with the exception of medical supplies) and ordering of shelter supplies and equipment; assures that appropriate quantities of all supplies are on hand at all times.
  • Researches and negotiates with all contractors and vendors for discounts and pro-bono
  • Oversees the regular inspection of shelter property for needed repairs and maintenance and secures contractors as necessary to maintain equipment, buildings and grounds. Ensures office equipment is functioning and directs maintenance schedule.
  • Administers town contracts
  • Daily data entry; database management as needed
  • Works closely with Financial Manager on bill paying, deposits and reconciliations, financial record keeping, entry and tracking of transactions in QuickBooks and for generating reports as needed
  • Responsible for payroll processing.
  • Responsible for insurance renewal, review, and compliance
  • Sees that workers' compensation incidents are properly documented, necessary forms are completed and doctors' appointments are made, to include vaccination appointments.
  • Ensures that new employees have received and completed necessary paperwork and information and have been oriented to their purpose (i.e., time clock, Employee Handbook, health/dental insurance, etc.).
  • Responsible for correspondence, scheduling, and assisting the Executive Director
  • Other duties assigned by the Executive Director.
